On behalf of all of us, the staff and people of the parish, I
thank Fr. Loi for his five years of service here at St. Francis
of Assisi parish.
He has been a tireless worker on behalf of the gospel and on
behalf of the people of the parish. He has been a joyful
and upbeat presence around the place and has presented a caring,
cheerful and happy face to everyone.
He has celebrated the liturgical and cultural events of the
parish, the family events like Baptisms, Weddings, First
Communions, Confirmations and Funerals and he has been there for
people in good times and in bad.
For all of this we are grateful. We have grown attached to
him and he has grown attached to us. For this reason we
feel sad at his leaving. One of the painful things in
parish life is the departure of a well loved priest or staff
person or parishioner. We honor these times of sadness
too, and the feelings that come with them. Having done so, we
look forward and wish him much success in his new parish where
he will be the pastor and have an opportunity to do creative
ministry using his own unique skills and talents.
We send him off with our prayers and good wishes and ask our
God to prosper the work of his hands.
May the Lord bless and keep you Fr. Loi
May he let his face shine on you and be gracious to you
May he look upon you kindly and grant you his peace.
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always sat your back,
The sun shine warm on your face,
The rain fall gently on your fields
And until we meet again
May the Lord hold you in the hollow of his hand.
Blessings,
Fr. Gene |
